The SACLA project team succeeded in producing an X-ray laser with a wavelength of 1.0 Angstroms, which is shorter than the first laser of SACLA observed on June 7.

RIKEN and the Japan Synchrotron Radiation Research Institute (JASRI) have successfully produced the first beam of X-ray laser light with a wavelength of 1.2 Angstroms at the SACLA X-ray Free Electron Laser (XFEL) facility.
